A sharp cry breaks the silence of the night.
"AAAAAH!", shrieks a fox lady, hanging from the edge of the roof.
She briefly looks down past her dangling legs and closes her eyes tight.
A four storey fall from the rooftop of the Mall. A fall which would lead to almost certain death.

But she feels something grabbing her. And holding her. A pair of cold arms.
She opens her eyes. She sees this strange dark grey reptile with whiskers and horns holding her. They descent together, slowly as a feather. The reptile's dark blue cape flutters in the wind, almost like a pair of wings.
"Fear not", says the stranger.
After a gasp, she looks down, then back at the creature. They're flying, there's no other possible explanation to what's happening.
"Are you an angel?", she asks in an almost whispering voice.
The dark creature shakes its head. "No, I am not."
"Then- are you--?!"
"I'm not a demon either."
The reptile sets its feet on the ground and carefully puts the lady down.
"Oh my God!!! How can I possibly thank you?! But mister, please, they stole my bag! They--"
With a nod of approval, the reptilian says, "Don't worry. Everything will be okay." His voice is deep and soothing.

The fox watches the stranger take off. Jumping high into the air, all the way to the rooftop.
It heads directly towards the staircase, seeing that the door was left open. Two hooded furs with bandannas wrapped around their snouts were rushing downstairs, one of them holding a bag.
Before the two thieves reach the ground floor, the dark pursuer drops in between the spiral staircase, coming to a halt a few feet from the ground. With its eyes glowing bright red.

The thief that was holding the bag falls down on her bottom. The other one is startled too and jumps, but he at least manages to stand on his feet.
The thief with the bag panics, "It's- it's-- that thing!! We gotta run!"
"Run upstairs?!?! T-this thing can fly!! W-w-we gotta-- Arhn!!"
The beast speaks slowly, its voice echoing in the long narrow stairway.
"You left that lady to die..."
The braver crook manages to grab his taser and aim with his shaking hand. He fires, the barbs connect to the creature's torso. But to no effect. The clicking noise is there, indicating that electricity is flowing through the wires. But this reptile-like creature is unaffected. It simply grabs the wires and pulls the barbs right out, all while going on with its speech,
"Now it's time to be judged."
And with that, it spreads its cape to reveal its torso. Two black arms burst from it, grabbing the criminals and pulling them close, then the cape wraps around them tightly.
The thieves squirm and scream and beg for mercy, being slowly crushed from all sides, in complete darkness. About a minute later, which felt like hours for the crooks, the creature pushes its cape back behind itself, letting the two fall over. They whimper, frightened and worn out.

In the meantime, the fox lady was waiting outside. The security officer, a gray fish, comes out of the building to see what happened. "Are you alright, miss? I heard screaming!"
"Yes, there was this... big lizard that caught me! There were two robbers-- they took my bag and pushed me of the roof!!"
"Robbers?!", the fish gets his baton ready and is about to head back inside, but the lady holds a hand on his shoulder and points up to the roof, "Wait, look!"
Up there, the reptile was holding the two robbers in its arms. It leaped off, floating toward the ground. The fish guard's jaw drops.
The big lizard lands and lays the barely awake criminals down. "Here you go, officer."
Although still somewhat frightening, its appearance is nowhere near as horrifying as it was around the criminals.
"And as promised," the creature holds the lady's bag with its tail and offers it back.
She takes it and bursts into tears, happy to be alive and have her stolen bag returned.
"Oh, mister!! Thank you so much!! How can I ever make it up to you?!"
"See that justice is served. I require nothing in return."

After handcuffing the robbers, the fish guard stands up and asks a few questions as the reptile hero is about to leave. "What exactly happened here? And who the tail are you??", slight disbelief can be inferred from his voice.
"I eased your job. Nobody got injured."
The fox lady reiterates the second question, "Who are you? Please, we ought to give you credit for this heroic act!"
"Tell them that Dragon-Man watches over the innocent. Only the guilty should fear his name."
Dragon-Man's eyes begin to glow again like two soul piercing red orbs. He leaps high into the air, and soars until he escapes the fox and fish's sight.
The fish rubs the back of his head. "Well, what do you know..."

nice job there. good job on your grammar and your story structure. the shortness really helps the reader feel like he's moving along.
